7 - 25 May 2013

Burred, rubbed, polished, painted on and cut through, the aluminium panel is the 'canvas' Diane Scott uses to explore abstraction on a surface that can shimmer and change as you adjust your viewing angle.

This is cool abstraction, where light intentionally plays a seductive game. The colours are stark, minimal, angular, and yet playful against the rubbings and polishing. Yellow predominates, a colour we feel more than we see.

Scott won both the Glaister Ennor Graduate Award and the Elam Painting Prize in her final Masters year. Concept is Diane Scott's first solo show at Orexart, following the completion of her Masters from Elam School of Fine Arts.
